Get ready to feel the intensity of Burner’s latest single, City 17, out today through Church Road Records. Known for their blistering riffs and profound messages, Burner is taking a fearless stand with this new track, confrontationally addressing the ongoing violence and cultural genocide against the Uyghur people by the Chinese Communist Party. Vocalist Harry shared that City 17 aims to illuminate these grave issues and acts as a stark warning against oppressive regimes worldwide.

Since bursting onto the scene in early 2022, Burner has made impressive waves across the UK underground music landscape. Coming off a stellar full UK tour with Employed to Serve in Spring 2022 and headlining their own tours across the UK and Ireland, Burner’s presence has been nothing short of monumental. The band has scorched stages at notable festivals like Bloodstock, ArcTanGent, 2000Trees, and Incineration in 2024. Their tour with metal giants Sylosis in April 2024 further solidified their impact in the metal community.

Burner’s debut LP, It All Returns to Nothing, released in June 2023 via Church Road Records, saw the band’s reputation for crafting heavy, intense music reach new heights. Earning a place in Metal Hammer’s “50 Best Albums of 2023” and “10 Best Death Metal Albums of 2023,” this album helped establish Burner as a force to be reckoned with.

In 2025, Burner continues to evolve and push boundaries with the release of City 17. This track blends stomping, ferocious grooves with a matured, sinister atmosphere, showcasing Burner’s musical and thematic evolution. Their sound is a kaleidoscope of death metal, hardcore, and black metal, reminiscent of bands like Trap Them, Darkest Hour, Gatecreeper, Converge, and Bolt Thrower.

To celebrate the release of City 17, Burner is set to kick off a UK tour in April, once again partnering with Employed to Serve. Prepare for a series of electrifying performances that encapsulate the band’s relentless energy and commitment to raising awareness of critical global issues.
